Modesto moving FAQ
How do you keep the flat rate from moving?
Your price comes off your actual inventory and access, gets written down, and stays put. As long as the load matches what you described, the number on move day is the number you approved.
Is it your crew, or subcontractors?
Always our own. John and his son run the jobs with a small trained team on our own trucks, no brokers, no day-labor, and nobody random handling your home.
When and how do I pay?
After the work is finished, never up front. Cards, check, or cash all work, and you sign off on the final total right there on site.
Is a deposit required?
Only a small refundable one to hold your crew and date. The rest is due when the job is finished, and your written quote never costs a thing.
Will stairs or heavy items add fees later?
No. A flight of stairs, a long carry, or a piano, pool table, or safe are all worked into the written flat rate before we start, so move day matches what you signed.
Can you move in triple-digit Modesto heat?
All summer long. We start early where we can, keep pieces shaded and out of the sun, and set up parking so loading is quick. Your window holds whether it is 75 or 105.
Do you take pianos, pool tables, safes, and hot tubs?
We do, and it is built into the flat rate. The heavy, awkward pieces get the right board, dollies, straps, and padding, handled by a crew that has moved plenty of them.
Can you load a U-Haul I already rented?
For sure. Bring your own truck or trailer and we will pad, load, and strap it down tight, and we can even drive it for you. Same written-flat-rate deal either way.
Can you store my things between closings?
Yes. We keep them in a clean, climate-controlled space, short or long term, and roll the cost straight into your written flat rate.
Can you deal with a building COI or HOA?
Yes. Lots of Valley HOAs and offices ask for a Certificate of Insurance and a booked window. Send the requirements over and we file the COI and reserve the time before the day.
How early should I lock in a date?
A week or two ahead is plenty, though month-ends and weekends go first. When a crew is free we will still take same-week and next-day jobs, so a quick call never hurts.
What if it rains during the move?
We work right through it. Floors and doorways stay covered and every piece is wrapped, so a wet day does not slow things down or put your belongings at risk.
How are my floors and walls protected?
Runners go down, doorways and banisters get padded, and furniture is blanket-wrapped before anyone lifts it, so both homes stay clean through the whole move.
Which towns do you cover?
Everywhere across Stanislaus County and the wider Valley: Modesto, Ceres, Turlock, Oakdale, Manteca, Tracy, Stockton, Merced, and out from there, plus long hauls out of state.
Want a number you can actually trust?
We will send your written flat rate straight from the McHenry Ave office, usually the same working day.
